Principles of Connectivism and the Digital Era
-
Learning may reside in non-human appliances, where learners can store information (data) using digital apps, social media, forums, databases, texts, or videos.

-
Learning is a process of connecting, and knowledge resides in a diversity of opinions: we depend on other people's perspectives, experiences, and knowledge to learn about things we wouldn't have access to in any other way to help us deepen our understanding.

-
Ability to see connections between fields, ideas, and concepts: bridging previous knowledge with new knowledge or associating and finding relevance between entities or points of view.

-
Accurate, up-to-date knowledge is the intent of all Connectivist Learning: We can stay updated and relevant by collaborating and working together as an online community.

-
Decision-making is itself a learning process. What we know today may change tomorrow: we need to stay aware of trends and realize that to keep up-to-date, we need to become autodidacts and empower our self-discovery and learning by knowing what, where, and how to look for information (new knowledge).
